"While I like this book for its visual content, I am shocked that National Geographic publishes without using metric measurements. I prefer pure metric, but would be satisfied with a combination of metric and imperial figures.

I am an American and have lived in Japan for over 30 years. I am versed in both metric and imperial systems and can clearly state that metric is much better for clarity.

National Geographic has an obligation to support efforts in educating Americans on the international standard of measurement. Unfortunately, this book was published using the archaic non-international measurement system. I hope that future editions will take a more international approach."

  • I bought this for a grandchild with the thought that it might distract him from his phone during the long road trip back home after visiting for the holidays. I originally saw the book at Costco and almost bought it for myself. My grandson’s Mom, Dad, and Grandmother all commented on how much they enjoyed perusing the book before they embarked for home. It’s a quality book, the pictures and articles are of the quality you would expect from National Geographic. Although the ‘2019’ in the title will probably limit the appeal as the year wears on, I may yet buy it for myself. Good stuff!
  • We gave them to our three grandsons for a Christmas present. They range from 20 to 13 years old. All during our Christmas get together they and their Dad could not stop reading them. Each one of these books contain very interesting and sometimes unusual information. Highly recommend them as good reference material.
  • I honestly am so thankful I ordered this online. My nephew is such a bookworm and loves all factual books. I bought this for him and it not only arrived in time, but anything from NatGeo is amazing. I love the beauty of each picture they intentionally put in there. Love the random facts. I think it's perfect for curious kids. It truly does provide so much information, and my nephew loves it. So happy with my purchase!
  • perfect for middle/high school gift giving and lots of fun to browse through for grownups too.
  • Fills in all the caps created by my wandering mind during high school. Valuable.
  • Fantastic book! Rewarding to read and page through the typically brilliant and instructive National Geographic pictures! I got two of these as gifts for two grandsons ages 12-14. They love the Almanacs and I often have gifted them with the latest NG Almanacs most years.
  • The information and articles in this book are fantastic. I love it and I even gave one to my Granddaughter and she loves it. It is well worth every penny. Thank you seller and for offering this book on line to purchase.
